Mairie's Story

Posted from the Knights of Freeport Forums...

The quiet girl that sits across from you holds herself with some arrogance, which is natural of a Tier'dal. Her lips curve upwards slightly in a cruel yet sardonic smile, and her fiery eyes glimmer with passion and heat. She leans back slightly in her chair, crossing her ankles demurely, arranging her robe around her, her hands clutching the goblet of wine in her hand, the only sign that she is nervous.

"You want me to tell you of myself ? What is there to tell ? I am a Necromancer, by talent rather than choice. Even at a young age, I was always re-animating bits and bobs that my parents brought home. This pleased my mother, for she was a Necromancer of some formidable ability. My father, a Coercer, was disappointed, he had hoped that one of his children would inherit his mind powers. My two siblings -- they were both disappointments." She then took a moment to take a sip of her wine. "My older sister ran away from home to become a" and then she sneers " Templar. My father swore he would hunt her down adn kill her himself, but her Guild protected her too well. We don't speak about her. My younger brother followed the path of the sword, and not the noble path of ShadowKnight. No, he HAD to be a Berzerker.

"And me.." She said softly, "I've decided to leave my ancestral manse and journey out into the worlds, with nothing more than a moons worth of provisions and a backpack. I will either prove myself or perish in the attempt. I have travelled to Freeport to make my fortune, to serve the will of the Overlord and to join the Knights of Freeport. It is up to you, however, if you wish to enlist me into your ranks."

That afternoon Mairie was accepted into the Knights of Freeport by General Nilok and made his Page. She progressed quickly through her studies, eventually reaching 17 Necromancer when General Nilok advanced her rank to Squire. She met a fellow Knight by the name of Andreshi, and was courted by him, eventually taking him as her mate. She took up the ancient art of scribing in order to learn more about her own necromancy skills, and advanced quickly to 20 Sage. Currently she is a 20 Necromancer, 20 Sage, Squire of the Knights of Freeport, Antonia Bayle, EQ2.
